Updates for 2025!
Our new backyard patio
It all started with failing retaining walls…and since we need to replace the retaining walls, we should probably redo the concrete sidewalk…and then, if we’re replacing the concrete, we really need to replace the patio blocks. Since we’re redoing the concrete, how about beefing up those deck supports so we don’t need as many that block the view of the lake, and getting them on footings… And, you see how this all goes. A long story not so short. In the end, we are thrilled!
We are so excited for times around the fire table with guests! Sharing our stories and having so many laughs together!
Guest Rooms!!!
These projects all began as we had two rooms left to update: Cozy Corner and Wind and Waves. While both were beautiful in their own rights, some love was needed in both!
For Cozy Corner, it all started with the bathroom. And then extended into the bedroom…We are replacing all flooring with gorgeous tile and a luxurious carpet to sink your toes into when you get out of bed. The bathroom will be changed by replacing the whirlpool tub with an oversized tiled walk-in shower with a rain shower system. It will be an amazing way to start your day! This room is really getting a floor to ceiling makeover that will definitely be your sanctuary during your stay!
In Wind and Waves, we had to say goodbye to the corner whirlpool tub. While it was a beautiful blue, it was time to let it go. That is being replaced with a freestanding Kohler air-jetted tub with a heated bask. (Just imagine sinking into the water and not being jolted forward by a cold tub wall when you leaned back! That will be glorious!) We have also added a separate marble-tiled walk-in shower with a rain shower system, so you have a choice when starting your day. With new tile on the floor, a new vanity, and plush carpet, all guests will get a feeling of serenity while staying in this spa-like room!
Solitude was next. (Yes, we did just give this room a makeover last year!) Since we were updating the tub in Wind and Waves, we decided to do the same in Solitude. The burgundy tub (which we actually had to design around last time!) is coming out and will be replaced by another Kohler air-jetted tub with a heated bask. It will remain a combination shower/tub, but will now include a rain shower system. A new tile surround will complete this room. (Then, it will be officially DONE!)
Finally, Still Waters. While this was the first room we renovated after purchasing the Inn, I was never thrilled with the whirlpool tub in the bathroom. We have decided to remove that and replace with a marble-tiled walk-in shower. This, too, will have a rain shower system, and I can check this room off the list as well!
The Kitchen!!!
We are so excited to continue to prepare delicious breakfasts for our guests in our updated kitchen! They say the kitchen is the heart of the home, and we have found that to be true in every home we have had! This is the place where meals are prepared with love and we can’t wait to share some new meals with you all! With a new gas cooktop and double-ovens, we will be able to prepare things we weren’t able to with our previous appliances. I see some taste-testing in Brad’s future!
Find Rest
All-in-all, we are designing this Inn to provide a welcoming, relaxing place for you to come and visit. You are the reason! We want you to have a place where you can unplug, take a breath, and find rest. We can’t wait to share it with you!
