Blues in the Northwoods – More Than Just Great Music
The Northwoods Blues Festival is coming to Chippewa Falls, and there is much more to it than just a great lineup of Blues Artists. What better place could there be for Blues in the Northwoods? The organizers of the festival have managed to get Taher Chef Christopher Murray. With a philosophy of providing his clients with fresh, nutritious and delicious meals everyday, he will be providing festival goers with some fantastic cuisine.
Chef Murray works for Taher, Inc., a company that has been around for more than 30 years. Their mission is to provide chef-based meals prepared from scratch, and sell them at a reasonable price, serving both public and private communities.
Since his formal training at a Culinary Arts School in Denver, Colorado, Chef Chris Murray‘s passion for the culinary arts has kept him on the fast-track in his industry from catering small intimate private home parties to appeasing 25,000 participants at a Washington County Trade Show.
Prior to joining Taher, Inc. in 2003 as Corporate Catering Manager, Chris’ culinary experiences included: Director of Catering for the Minnesota Vikings Food Service preparing food for the executive suites and VIP parties at the Hubert H. Humphrey dome; Chef at the Eden Prairie City Center, catering weddings, corporate functions and private parties; Executive Chef to the CEO and Board of Directors for the IDS/American Express Corporation; and owner of a successful “Personal Chef Service,” catering dinners, proms and private parties. In 1998, Chris had the privilege of catering the 1998 US Presidential visit of Bill Clinton.
The Northwoods Blues Festival will be held for the first time in Chippewa Falls at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. Previously held in Spooner, this will be the fifth time for the Festival to be held in Northern Wisconsin. I can’t think of a better venue for this event. Over the past several years the Fairgrounds has been making capital improvements to the property, and this year is no exception. They are on track for providing one of the best years ever for hosting fairs and festivals such as this. While there is plenty of camping available, keep in mind Pleasant View Bed & Breakfast is less than a 10 minute drive from the fairgrounds. For those who prefer not to share a bathroom with hundreds of other folks, would love to sleep late in the morning and can appreciate a sumptuous, home made breakfast that remind of the comfort food your mom made, then Pleasant View is the place for you. Never mind that gorgeous view of Lake Wissota!
As for the line-up at the Northwoods Blues Festival, it just doesn’t get any better than this. The 2017 lineup includes Duke Robillard, Tinsley Ellis, Albert Cummings, Bernard Allison, Sena Ehrhardt, Bridget Kelly Band and many more. The Northwoods Blues Festival staff hopes to see all their fans and friends at their 2017 event that they’ve developed throughout the last four years of festivals.
The end of June is a beautiful time of the year to spend in the Chippewa Valley, so come and enjoy Blues in the Northwoods and we hope to see you, here at Pleasant View Bed & Breakfast, as one of our special guests!
